Overview
Released in 1996 by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo established the dark dungeon crawling ARPG genre. Sixteen levels of procedurally generated hell beneath the town of Tristram, three playable classes, and an atmosphere of gothic dread that has never quite been matched.
The game that started it all. The warrior, the rogue, the sorcerer. The Butcher. Archbishop Lazarus. Diablo himself, cowering on level 16.
Comprehensive Diablo I content — guides, lore, history, and builds — is coming to DiabloBytes.
